Episode Transcription

Before we do anything else today, let’s meet with the LORD:

Heavenly Father, thank You for You. No matter what is weighing heavy on our hearts today, as we start this week or this season, LORD we know and acknowledge that You are over it all, that You are all that we need, that You are working all things for the good of those who love You, and those who call on Your Name. LORD, we know that You are faithful, and I ask that You help us to surrender everything to You. LORD, speak to us today. LORD we thank You for who You are. We love You, we praise You, we thank You, and I say all of this in Your Holy and Precious Name. Amen.

For today’s Verse of the Day, turn to the book of Psalms, chapter 91, verses 1 through 2, which read:

‘Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”’ — Psalms 91:1-2

I have a question for you... what’s your shelter? You might be looking to worldly things to “complete you” or to “protect you.” It might be your phone. It might be video games, it could be a person, or maybe even a place. But can I tell you something real, but sometimes difficult to swallow truth? That “shelter” (or you might even call it an idol), can’t complete you, and it can’t provide you with real rest.

Where does the Bible say to find TRUE shelter? Verse 1: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Let me say, His rest is real. If you have never truly found rest, run to Jesus. Who is He? Verse 2: “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

No matter if in this season you are on the highest high or the lowest low, find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Find rest in Christ. Make Him your refuge, your fortress, your God. Trust Him. When you realize He has never failed you or lead you astray yet, you’ll come to trust Him all the more.

Run to Jesus, and have a great day, y’all!
