Episode Transcription

For today’s Verse of the Day, we will be in the book of Habakkuk, chapter 3, verses 17 and 18, which read:

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” — Habakkuk‬ ‭3:17-18

Perspective matters, and is important. When you first reads these verses, you are going to read about someone who is going through some tough time, through a tough season, and of someone being stuck in a deep deep valley. In this season:

Now, let’s look at these same verses through a different perspective. Not from what goes wrong, but from what goes right, from what he still has even when everything else fails.

Perspective matters. Maybe in this season, you can relate. It might feel as though everything is failing. That you are losing everything. Maybe you lost a loved one, maybe you lost a friend, maybe you lost your main source of income, maybe you don’t know how you’re going to make it. Maybe you’re in pain, maybe you’re lost, maybe you’re confused.

While this might be the feelings we hold in this season, I want you to know that the King of kings and the LORD of lords knows what you are going through, and He is right beside you. He isn’t going to leave you, He isn’t going to forsake you. You can trust Him. Even when it feels like all is lost, He is still in control. He is still sovereign. My friend, run to Jesus, and you will find Him. Truly, He is all that you need.

Have a great day!
