To all of my Aggies out there, happy first day of school! Whether today is also your first day of school, whether you started school last week, whether you have graduated and no longer a full-time student.. no matter where you are in life right now, this statement still applies to you. As I always tell myself everyday… “Today you will see the faithfulness of the LORD.” We serve a really faithful God, so no matter what season you are in right now, no matter if you are lifting weights in the gym (good job and I am so proud of you by the way lol), no matter if you are walking in the biggest or the smallest school or job-site in the state… “Today you will see the faithfulness of the LORD.”

I am so glad you joined me again for message two of the Burdens series… The title of today’s episode is Independent of Season. Turn with me to the book of Habakkuk, chapter 3, verses 17-18. We have covered this in episode 15 of All for Him, but it is so good that we are going to read over it again. Here’s what it says…

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” — Habakkuk 3:17-18

• Perspective matters
• Even when times are tough, going through a difficult season, being stuck in a deep valley, and being filled with many burdens... He is still good.
  • In this season:
    • The fig trees don’t bud
    • There are no grapes on the vines
    • The olive crop fails
    • The fields produce no food
    • There are no sheep in the pen
    • No cattle in the stalls
  • And even despite all of this, despite the burdens... he still rejoices in the LORD and will be joyful in God.
  • Why? How is Habakkuk still able to rejoice in God in such a trying time as he described... let’s change perspective
• Even despite all of his burdens, let’s look at what still remains
  • The fig trees don’t bud, but he does still have all the trees
  • There are no grapes on the vines, but the vines remain
  • He still has the fields, even though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food
  • He still has the pens, even though there are no sheep
  • He still has the stalls, even though there are no cattle
  • And knowing all of this, he rejoices in the LORD. He declares that he will be joyful in God his Savior
• Even in the middle of all of these burdens, the LORD never left. He determined that the LORD was still good, He still provided... His goodness was independent of the season

When you are surrounded and being drowned by burdens, know this… 1) God is Able, and 2) His goodness is and always will be independent of season. I love y’all, and y’all have a great day!
