Episode Notes

“The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” — Habakkuk 3:19

Read Habakkuk 3:19 on the YouVersion Bible App.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-30

Read Matthew 11:28-30 on the YouVersion Bible App.

“Obedience is our responsibility. The outcome is God's responsibility. As we learn to trust him with our future, trust him with those we love, trust him as our provider, and trust his sovereign plan, that gives us the foundation to step out in faith.” — Craig Groeschel, Senior Pastor of Life.Church

Episode Transcription

Happy Friday!! I hope your morning, your afternoon, your evening, or your night is going fantastic and guess what? It is about to get so much better because right now, we are about to jump into God’s Word!

But before we do, let’s recap the series so far… We have been doing a study this week on Habakkuk 3 and we have already covered two points so far…

(1) God is able

(2) His goodness is independent of season

And today the title of the message is… (3) It is all the LORD

Join me as I read Habakkuk 3:19:

“The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” — Habakkuk 3:19

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-30

When the burdens of life try to drown you, remember that God is able, that His goodness is independent of season, and that it’s all the LORD.

I want to end the series by doing something #different. I don’t know where you are in life right now, I don’t know what is heavy on your heart, I don’t know what current season you find yourself, I don’t know the pain, I don’t know the burdens, I don’t know the trials, I don’t know the circumstances. But there is one thing that I do know, Jesus Christ is LORD—LORD of all. One of my favorite pastors (he doesn’t know me, but he was the first pastor that I found after I got saved and he is the one pastor that one day I could find myself working for on the YouVersion Bible App) anyways he said that for the first funeral that he preached at… he didn’t really know the words to say. He walked up to the mic, saw pain, saw hurt, and he took a deep breath and simply said “Jesus is LORD” and immediately could see relief on the faces of many.

I want you to know today (if no one has ever told you before)… there is power in the name Jesus. Truly Jesus Christ is LORD—LORD of all. I want to end in worship. Five minutes, that’s all I ask. These next five minutes might be the only five minutes of your day that you drop everything (all the worries, all the fear, all the doubt, all the anxiety, all the burdens) and you lay them at His throne. These five minutes could be the best five minutes of your day. They might (well let me correct myself.. they will) be better than those late night talks that hit different, they will be better coffee and the caffeine, they will be better than winning the game, they will be better than anything else of this world.

If we could worship on the podcast, without a doubt I would but due to copyrights I cannot do that. I have linked Lord of All (Live) by Noah Paul Harrison in the show notes for Apple Music, for Spotify, and for just simply YouTube but I am willing to bet that so many will say “oh this is for those super religious people to listen to after the episode” and you will finish this episode and then you will go back to your day. But let me say this, you listened to this point and that tells me something… You are here for a reason. Take a break from the craziness of this world, take a break from the burdens… and just worship. If you ever need me, I am here.

Remember, God is able, His goodness is independent of season, and it is all the LORD. Jesus Christ is LORD—LORD of all. Worship with me now, and y’all have a great day!
