Episode Notes

“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” — Romans 11:33-36

“As Paul considers God’s great plan of the ages, he breaks into spontaneous praise. Paul realizes that God’s ways are past finding out, and God’s wisdom and knowledge is beyond him… [It is all of Him, it is all through Him, and it is all to Him.] The fact that Paul can’t figure out God makes him glorify God all the more. When we understand some of the greatness of God, we worship Him all the more passionately.” — The Enduring Word Commentary

Episode Transcription

Good morning, good afternoon, or goodnight! Welcome to the podcast, and thank you so much for joining me.

Before we jump into today’s episode, let’s start with the backstory. Last week I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw something #different. Something phrased so perfectly that I have never heard it said like this before. And after I shared it to my stories, it caught traction… by both myself in my own life, but also by others.

With that said, I believe that God’s Word should be at the center of all that we do, including this podcast. The post that I shared didn’t contain any Biblical references, but it was all Biblically accurate. But because I regard His Word so highly, we are going to read scripture first and then jump into the post.

Today’s verse of the day comes from the book of Romans, chapter 11, verses 33-36. Feel free to follow along with in your Bible, on your phone, or in the show notes. If it is safe for you to do, I am going to ask that you stand in honor of the reading of God’s Word. If it isn’t safe, if you are driving with your hand on the wheel or in some other situation where should remain seated please by all means do so! But if otherwise, please stand… Here is what His Word says:

“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” — Romans 11:33-36

The Enduring Word Commentary beautifully described Paul’s words.. to quote them:

“As Paul considers God’s great plan of the ages, he breaks into spontaneous praise. Paul realizes that God’s ways are past finding out, and God’s wisdom and knowledge is beyond him… [It is all of him, it is all through Him, and it is all to Him.] The fact that Paul can’t figure out God makes him glorify God all the more. When we understand some of the greatness of God, we worship Him all the more passionately.” — The Enduring Word Commentary

And now here is the post that I shared… from the Instagram of @Jesus_Newsfeed, the post said:

“Sometimes God isn’t going to give you want. He loves you too much for that.” — @Jesus_Newsfeed, Instagram

That hits different. The fact that God is so good, the fact that God is so sovereign, the fact that God cares about you so much, that fact that Jesus knows more than any of us ever could, the fact that He sees things that you can’t see, the fact that He hears things that you can’t hear… He loves you so much. Scripture says that for you, still being a sinner, Jesus committed the greatest act of love by lying down His life for a friend. There is nothing that you can do to make God love you any more or any less. He just loves you. And truly that is good news for you to hear. Regardless of season… God is that good.

Let’s end again with the same post that began the episode.
